Customer Identification at Checkout

QR Code Scanning

How the SpenVest QR code works during customer identification.

1 min read

Each SpenVest customer has a unique QR code and member code available in their app. The QR code is the preferred method for identifying the customer at checkout because it is fast and reduces manual entry errors.

QR scanning flow

1

Customer presents SpenVest QR

The customer opens their SpenVest app and displays the QR code on their screen.

2

Staff scans or enters member code

Staff scan the QR code using the store's barcode scanner or camera. If scanning is unavailable, staff can manually enter the member code displayed below the QR.

3

Staff attaches customer in POS

The merchant attaches the identified customer to the sale using the POS workflow available in their system.

4

Staff completes payment normally

Payment is processed as usual. The QR scan is for customer identification only and does not process payment or redemption.

5

Transaction eligible for SpenVest attribution

Once payment is complete, the transaction can be linked to the customer's SpenVest account for eligible SVC attribution.

QR code is identification only

The SpenVest QR code identifies the customer. It does not trigger payment, redeem SVC, or reduce the sale total. Payment is always completed through the merchant's normal POS checkout process.
