Introduction

Understanding SVC

Learn what Smart Value Credits are and how they differ from cash or general-purpose funds.

1 min read

Smart Value Credits (SVC) are promotional store credits issued by participating merchants under their own reward rules. They are usually redeemable only with the merchant that issued them.

Important SVC characteristics

SVC is merchant-issued promotional value
Balances are typically merchant-specific, not pooled across merchants
Release timing can depend on merchant validation or campaign conditions
Availability, expiry, and redemption rules can vary by merchant and offer
Not banked money

SVC is not a deposit account, stored-value card scheme, or custody product. Always review the merchant's redemption rules before relying on a balance.
